Our Puja Committee, Meerapur Barwari Durga Puja Committee established in the year 1976 by a group of residents charged with firm commitment, religious faith and traditional grandeur. Today our Puja has become one of the largest Durga Puja in Allahabad and lacs of people come around to see the theme prepared at fever pitch.
Our Puja Committee is always at the helm of super creativity and adds a feather to their cap with innovative ideas. Several multinationals and Indian companies are vying with each to sponsor activities. The local people are also coming forward with huge donations to join in the elite group.
Ours is a socio-cultural non-profit making body and one of our primary objectives is to organise Durga Puja every year. Each year, we house Goddess Durga inside D.A.V. Inter College Campus with different themes which not only aware people in general about various belief & but also attracts the attention of media houses.
Our focused attention remains on the Goddess of Shakti. Our Mother must look resplendent at all times. We are proposing to base the idols and the backdrops for the current year’s puja on a very innovative theme. We are aiming to create an awareness about different reasons behind Durga Puja .
The occasion will be both informative and entertaining. Wide media coverage, both national & international, is expected. Hundreds of thousands of people, besides VIPs and social and spiritual leaders shall be participating in the celebrations as in the past..
