Saraswati Puja is celebrated in the month of Magha (January–February). It is celebrated on Basant Panchami or Shree Panchami. People place books near the goddess’ statue or picture and worship the goddess Saraswati. Many choose the day as a symbolic start of learning the alphabets (Hathe Khori) by children.
